NPT Parking Information
The Lake Placid-North Elba Historical Society is the northern terminus of the Northville-Placid Trail. NPT hikers are welcome to park behind The History Museum (old Lake Placid Train station) while on the trail.
Hikers must register and pay prior to parking. Registration and payment can be made below or at The History Museum at 242 Station Street in Lake Placid. You may also mail the form attached below with a check made out to the Lake Placid-North Elba Historical Society to P.O. Box 189, Lake Placid, NY 12946.

In order to park you need to be at least 18 years of age, provide your contact information, register your vehicle and pay an overnight parking fee of $25 for 1-7 days or $40 for 8-14 days.
No vehicle should be parked on Museum property for more than 14 days.
All vehicles must have a LPNEHS Parking Authorization Pass (PAP) on the dashboard and visible through the windshield. Pick up a PAP at the Museum prior to leaving your vehicle on Museum property (or request via mail or email ahead of time). Hikers must register and pay prior to parking.
